JOB TITLE: Sr. Researcher - SETA for Analysis Research

LOCATION: Bethesda, MD

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provide support in the execution of the lifecycle of various programs under the overall Office Director for Analysis programs area to include development, source selection, execution, closeout, and transition.  The objectives include assisting with the coordination, monitoring, communication, and integration of all technical aspects of approximately a dozen unique concurrent Program lifecycles.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Expert level written and spoken communication skills are required for this position.
• A graduate degree is required in one of the following technical disciplines: computer science, statistics, or mathematics. An equivalent technical degree (e.g., physics, data science) is acceptable, as long as the candidate has at least three years of statistics and machine learning experience and relevant course work. An educational background or coursework in artificial intelligence or sub discipline (e.g. machine learning) is preferred.
• Subject Matter Expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
• During the past eight (8) years the candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years developing (or refining) and testing statistical or probabilistic modeling methods, including metrics development (e.g., scoring function), error metrics, and related quantitative and qualitative model evaluation methods. This experience must have been applied in at least three (3) of these domains:
 • Human Language Technology
 • Computer Vision
 • Facial Recognition
 • Biotechnology /Biodefense
 • Predictive Analytics
 • Cyber Operations (Offense and Defensive)
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in government-related research and development projects is required.
• Technical expertise and professional work or graduate-level research experience is required in the following areas within the past ten (10) years (post-graduate professional work experience preferred):
 • Time series analysis
 • Machine learning methods
 • Research program evaluation, including development of various metrics and methods
 • Proficiency with statistical analysis software packages (R or MATLAB preferred) in a non-classroom environment is required
• Ability to proactively and independently identify potential technical and programmatic risks of AI/ML and other technical methods and advise the Office Director accordingly.
• Excellent writing and editing skills. Ability to develop succinct, comprehensive, understandable documents using complex data from multiple sources.
• Excellent slide development and PowerPoint skills. Ability to visually communicate complex ideas at a high level for technically savvy, but non-expert audiences.
• Strong organizational, problem solving, and time management skills. Must be detail oriented.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• A PhD is preferred in any of the following disciplines: computer science, statistics, or mathematics.
• Experience with the Intelligence Community or other government-run analysis and research evaluation is desired, but not required.
• Previous experience as a program manager supporting the IC or DoD.
• Previous senior level consulting expertise.
