JOB DESCRIPTION:
This Program seeks to develop novel methods to assess foreign malign influence (FMI) activities and risks. FMI includes: subversive, undeclared (including covert and clandestine), coercive or criminal activities by foreign governments, non-state actors, or their proxies to affect another nation’s popular or political attitudes, perceptions, or behaviors to advance their interests. This can include efforts to sow division, undermine democratic processes and institutions, or steer policy and regulatory decisions in favor of the foreign actor’s strategic objectives. This program seeks reliable measures of influence impact and methods for assessing FMI risks.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• A Master’s or Doctorate degree in quantitative social science, computer science, data science, or related technical discipline.
• Three (3) years of experience conducting and/or managing research on sociotechnical systems.
• Experience in at least three of the following areas: foreign malign influence assessments; information operations; target audience analysis; digital marketing and advertising; public opinion research; risk assessment methodologies; causal inference in social science; computational methods to study behaviors, beliefs, perceptions, and attitudes; and online trust and safety.
• One (1) year of experience supporting the management of a multi-disciplinary research and development (R&D) or Test and Evaluation (T&E) team.
• Excellent writing and editing skills. Ability to develop succinct, comprehensive, understandable documents using complex data from multiple sources.
• Excellent slide development and PowerPoint skills. Ability to visually communicate complex ideas at a high level for technically savvy, but non-expert audiences.
• Provide selected writing sample of 10 pages or less where you are the primary author.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• One (1) year of experience with causal inference methods in social science research.
• One (1) year of experience creating program plans, work breakdown structures, and milestone schedules.
• One (1) year of experience in the Department of Defense (DOD) or Intelligence Community (IC), including experience with requirements, CONOPS, and transition.
