Description

Title: Cyber Research Subject Matter Expert

Description: This position advises acquisition, research, and development programs in early stages on cyber penetration mitigation strategies to guide direction of development. This position supports senior level engineers, scientists, technicians, providing support and expertise regarding cyber security and information assurance compliance issues to a varied customer base, in writing or verbally in form of presentation or dialogue in open collaborative forum.

Provide support to research, design, development, acquisition, testing, evaluation, operation and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and network systems in support of Total Craft Systems Engineering.

Support development of Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages for the purpose of obtaining an Authority to Operate (ATO), Interim Authority to Operate (IATO), and Interim Authority to Test (IATT) under the Department of the Navy (DON) Chief Information Officer (CIO)-approved Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.

Support teams to identify C&A path for to ATO and monitor, facilitate and maintain cyber security compliance across the fleet of boats and craft in inventory.

 

Qualifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
  • Ten (10) years of experience working with and implementing DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) process; its predecessor Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP); and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800 series guidelines, recommendations and reference materials as applied to military systems. This experience should include thorough understanding of DoD IA policy and demonstrated application for Certification and Accreditation (C&A); Authority to Operate (ATO), Interim Authority to Operate (IATO), and Interim Authority to Test (IATT) under the Department of the Navy (DON) Chief Information Officer (CIO) approval authority.
  • Five (5) years of experience with adherence and fulfillment of Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs), Information Assurance Vulnerability Bulletins (IAVBs) and Computer Task Orders (CTOs).
  • Five (5) years of experience in US Navy afloat ship networks, military communications, global positioning system, navigation equipment, and associated security methodologies.
Security Requirements : Current SECRET clearance required.
