Mechanical Engineer


Are you looking for your next challenge? Are you looking for an exciting new project to test and grow your skills? This position supports a Government Contract which potentially will be awarded on/ or near November 1, 2018. We are searching for a candidate to provide mechanical engineering expertise, analyze complex systems, hardware and architecture to resolve operational issues.  The ideal candidate will perform engineering calculations, perform Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD), draft project specifications, prepare technical reports, prepares design estimates and manage configuration control.


Location: Maryland

 

Clearance: None - must be US Citizen and be clearable

Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor's degree plus 9+ years of experience OR a Master's degree plus 6+ years of experience OR a Ph.D. Degree plus 4+ years’ experience.

Project scope:

  • Provide advice on a range of projects involving fabrication of conducting polymer RF structures, on design and fabrication of mechanical structures using Pro/Engineer design software and on fabrication of structures by laser ablation using both excimer lasers and femtosecond Ti-Sappphire lasers.
  • Researches, designs, evaluates, installs, operates, and maintains mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles. May work with other engineering staff in the design and development of electro-mechanical devices and components.
  • Uses standard procedures in carrying out assignments associated with research, design or development of specific parts, components, or minor phases of a project.
  • Coordinates with other technical personnel in solving technical problems, fabricating equipment, gathering information, formulating plans, designs, cost estimates and specifications.
  • Provide Implementable advice on a range of projects involving fabrication of conducting polymer RF structures; design and fabrication of mechanical structures using Pro/Engineer design software; and fabrication of structures by laser ablation using both excimer lasers and femtosecond Ti-Sappphire lasers.

Experience requirement:

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in scientific research, design of experiments, research documentation, production development, and technical management.

 

NOTE: This position supports a Government Contract which potentially will be awarded on/ or near November 1, 2018.  All candidates considered will be made contingent offer based on pending contract award.
