Optics & Photonics Research Scientist
This position supports a proposal effort in the Intelligence Research Community which will provide Scientific Research, Communications, Advanced Computing Systems and Engineering. This is a Full-time employee status opportunity and all placements will be contingent upon contract award.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years’ experience
Requirements:
- The consultant shall have demonstrated expertise in laboratory research including experience with fiber optics, non-linear optics using ultrafast pulsed lasers, design and implementation of optical experiments, and software development for both experiment control and data analysis.
- The consultant shall have experience in the use of non-linear effects in optical fiber e.g. frequency conversion using four wave mixing. Experience in computer programming (using C++, Java, MATLAB or other high-level language) as well as experience with: optical interferometric techniques (fiber and/or free-space), optical spectrometers, and optical detection instrumentation (e.g. photodiodes, lock-in amplifiers, high-speed oscilloscopes, data Jogging equipment).
- The Scientist shall be formally trained, be capable of, and have a proven track record of designing, performing, and documenting experiments, and of effectively presenting results to Government and university researchers in the aforementioned areas of expertise.
- MS in Electrical Engineering and/or Physics and a minimum of
five (5) years of technical work experience.
